Yesterday May 28th, the Commodores secured their TENTH verbal commitment from the graduating class of 2013. Yesterday, California quarterback Chad Kanoff decided to take his talents to West End and suit up for the Dores.
Kanoff is only rated a three-star prospect by rivals.com, but on espn.com he is rated the number nine quarterback in the nation and is a four-star prospect. Kanoff didn't express interest in many schools from my perspective, the only schools that were contending for this highly talented prospect were San Diego State and of course the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Kanoff stands a six-foot four and weighs just over two-hundred pounds. He is only the second Commodore commitment from the state of California under Head Coach James Franklin, the other being Dillon van der Wal. Kanoff is the second commitment from the class of 2013 to play quarterback, the other being the standout quarterback, Johnathon McCrary. It will be very interesting to see the position battles between them two, especially if one decides to beat out Carta-Samuels or Robinette next season as a true freshman, but let's not get too carried away. The quarterback position just got a lot more interesting with the addition of Kanoff and McCrary.
